TIM V // BERLIN SUITE
The first foundations of the Berlin Suite project emerged in the spring of 2015. It was during his six-month stay in the German capital that the Swiss composer and musician Tim Verdesca, immersed in the atmosphere of the city, decided to write a series of musical pieces, conceived as a suite.
A regular at the many jam sessions and concerts he attends every night, Tim Verdesca meets some of the city's most prominent jazz musicians and brings them together for a first session: And so, the project is born!
The cohesion and camaraderie that quickly developed within the group inspired the musician to invite his bandmates for a tour, which he organized upon his return. This tour materialized in January 2016 with six concerts that were particularly well received in clubs around Lake Geneva.
Building on this success, the Berlin Suite project was recorded and filmed "live" during the summer of 2017 to be presented at a new series of dates in Switzerland, including one at the JazzContreBand festival, then in an orchestral version with the Nexus orchestra at the Ansermet studio in Geneva and Salle Paderewski in Lausanne, recorded by RTS in September 2019.
The album "TIM V // Berlin Suite" is signed to the Berlin label QFTF (Lee Konitz, Baiju Bhatt & Red Sun, Marie Krüttli)
