MONCEF GENOUD TRIO
Born in 1961 and a professional musician since 1983, Moncef quickly established himself as one of Switzerland's leading jazz artists, thanks in part to the work he has created with his Trio. His impressive career (with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bob Berg, Youssou N'Dour, Michael Brecker, and Bill Stewart) and his countless tours around the world are truly remarkable. His close collaboration with the great Youssou N'Dour and other equally luminaries has inspired him to bring his experience, delicate touch, and exquisite musicality to jazz, whether it be standards, his bold interpretations of pop, or his own compositions. His rhythm section is comprised of two formidable sidemen: drummer Cyril Regamey (Ohad Talmor, Yilian Canizares, Ben Monder) and the young bassist Timothy Verdesca (Guillaume Perret, Arthur Hnatek, François Lindemann). The return of Moncef, with his delicate notes, his shimmering musicality, his playful groove, which are part of the soul of Chorus.
